I'll make an assumption that you already have cables that attach each pc to the router. Check to see how many ports there are on your router. My guess is that it probably has four, but even if there are only two, you can still link your two pcs. Go to the System Properties of My Computer and select the Computer Name tab. Select the Change button, then select the radio button for Workgroup. If this is your home, then make up a name like HOMEOFFICE. You will need to restart after making these changes. Do this on each pc and/or laptop. Whichever computer has the printer attached, you can do a network search for printers and it will locate the printer attached to the other pc. In order to use any peripheral (in this configuration) you will need to leave the computer on that is physically attached to the peripheral. Good luck~

First of all, who is the printer connected to? PC or Laptop? I'll assume it's the PC. Second, does your printer have a NIC (Network Interface Card - it enables you to plug in a CAT 5 cable and connect your printer to a network port)? If it does you do this to set up the printer thro the network...connect your printer to the router and get the IP address of the printer. In order to obtain the IP address of the printer, use the buttons on the body of the printer to print out the configuration of the printer ( I don't know the specific type of printer you are using so I won't be able to assist you with that). When you successfully get the IP of the printer, u now go to the laptop and do the "Add printer" process. Choose "Local Printer attached to..." and uncheck the "Automatically detect...", then choose "Create a New Port" and choose "Standard TCP/IP Port". Then when you wanna create the port, enter the IP of the printer, then proceed with choosing the printer name and printing test page. That should see you thro if not, check the router configurations.

If you don't have a NIC, then since the printer is already installed on the PC, go to the printer folder on the PC, right-click on the printer and select "Sharing..." and share the printer. Go to the laptop and check the printer folders and the printer should be there (if your network was set up properly).

Phew!!! that should work if not, holla at the ya customer service...PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
