I have an HP dv6045nr laptop.

It's a pretty beastly machine as far as laptops go, but for some reason, when I play guildwars, use windows mediaplayer, and browse the net, I tend to get a blue screen of death reading "NV4_disp".

Anybody know whats up with this?

your mediacard may be the cluprit. when my company was upgradeing to windows xp professional after a while the blue screen of death would come on and reboot the whole computer. the cause was the media card, you may want to have that checked out, if its not that it could be that your running too many applications or have a high CPU usage going on. hope that helps

Right click your desktop, select the "settings" tab, click the "Advanced" button, click the "Troubleshoot" tab, and move the slider one mark away from full. Repeat this until you've found a stable setting. I've seen this previously, and it's more common with laptops. Also check with the manufacturer of your laptop to see if there are updated display drivers or firmware available. The updates may allow you to return to a more agressive setting.

Update your Nvidia graphics card drivers.
