i have a sony vaio notebook with the centrino m and i was wondering if it is possible to change it to a intel core duo2?

nope, you can't. Those 2 cpus use different motherboards, so the core duo won't work on the centrio-m. Also, you won't be able to change it, because once you open the laptop, the warranty is void, so read the manual/manufacturer's website carefully.

nope, you would be better off getting a new computer that already has the intel core 2 duo processor in it and besides windows vista is coming out in a few weeks wait til then and get a computer with the core 2 duo processor already in it and the new operating system on it.

If so the easiest thing would simply be to send it to some sort of shop or something and have a professional do it. In the end, it would probably just be easier to buy a new one...well sometimes.

Umm, no!

There's not much you can do to upgrade the laptop except when it comes to memory or the hard drive.. You could spend hours if not weeks trying to locate the right upgrade.
