i lost my operating system on my laptop, how can i get a recovery disk?

Call up the manufacture and ask for the recovery disc, be prepared to pay up to $30 for the disc.

If your copy of the OS was bought from a retailer, you can contact Microsoft (or Apple) with your key and they will send you a new disk for a nominal fee.

If the OS came with the PC, you must contact the computer provider.

restoration disk are in simple terms like XP or Vista Cds themselves. restoration disk require no COA while triggered simply by fact they are embedded into the appliance. I certainly have put in the comparable Dell restoration disk on 3 dell computers and that i've got had no problems with them, in simple terms that each physique 3 have the comparable COA (XP Product code). So technially i'm working the comparable application on 3 computers which MS does unlike...thank you

try checking if your machine if you're still under warranty and if you're still under warranty it would be easier, but frankly, if you've lost your os, you've practically got to purchase a new one. Windows wasn't created by your lappie's manufacturer, and under the EULA you aren't allowed to have multiiple copies of a single licensed windows, and most likely, the recovery disk is actually the driver cd.

Normally if you supply the manufacturer with enough information they will supply you a restore disk for a small charge normally shipping cost.
