I am not sure if it would be worth it to replace the 2x512 ram with 2x1Gb in my macbook. Is it going to make a big difference? I am a beginner in using final cut pro, however, i don't use it professional, just some simple editing. Is it worth it and how much difference is it going to make?
Thanks a lot!

if you are noticing lag, then it might be a good idea to upgrade if it is bothering you. i don't know how 1gb feels like because i just upgraded from 512 to 2gb for $150. if you are using a macbook and not macbook pro, 1gb to 2gb shouldnt make that much different because you have no video card.

To jeffcougar, its pretty obvious he is talking about RAM, not hard drive space.

To the poster: if you feel like it could run faster, than a RAM upgrade will make it faster. If you're happy with the speed right now, there is no need to upgrade,

I wouldnt upgrade my mac, I would go for an external hard drive. Those things hold anywhere from 45-600 gigs. Most are less than a hundred bucks too, they just plug into a normal USB plug

i think it is because the bigger the ram the faster it is. and yea i have use final cut pro before and yes it does take up alot of space.
