in my other laptop i have a removabe hard drive its not ide does this mean its sata and can i usb it to other?

you can use it as an external harddisk to smeothers too

not ide doesnt mean its sata. it can be pcmcia or scsi. look at the connecter and goggle for hard drive standards and compare
