I just bought this pc partners motherboard and it will not boot to windows unless I clear the bios first. Then I can get to windows but if I restart the computer I get a no signal message on the monitor. Then I have to clear the bios again to get to windows. So as you see loading programs that need the system to restart to finish loading is impossible at this point.
Help :(!!

While flipping through a magazine years ago, I saw a small email machine that had a keyboard and a small screen attached. It had a modem and it's purpose was to send and receive emails. Something like this would be perfect for my dad who is in his late 60's and refuses to learn how to use the computer. Has anybody seen something like this?

My computer, running Windows XP Pro, froze, and it will not reboot. The screen comes up, there is some activity, then screen goes black and says Reboot failed, press F1 to try again, press F2 to go to setup. Pressing F1 just brings up the error message over and over again, and pressing F2 does nothing useful.

I tried to restart the computer with a cd in the drive, and got a different error message - PREVIOUS REBOOT WAS DUE TO VOLTAGE REGULATOR FAILURE. Press F1 etc....

Okay - so what is really wrong with my computer?

I will bring it to pc repair place if I have to, but I want to know if this is something I could try to tackle on my own, if it is as simple as replacing the battery or checking cable connections, or do I really need to call in the big guns?

thanks in advance!

Everytime I try to run media center and lets say "my music" my pc crashes and reboots. Also it may randomly crash whenever it feels like it. I have been swapping out parts left and right I even put new artic 5 on the cpu. The cpu is a 3.2 ghz p4. It has a really nice heatsinkfan on it, but it runs at about 55 c. Do you think that the pc overheats whenever I try to do something decently large?

-2gb mem
-160gb hdd
-nvidia geforce 440

Please be nice with this answer all of you computer literate people, but I was wondering if you could buy a wireless card or some sort of attachment to add to your desktop PC to make it wireless. If so, where and how much and how practical is this?

My husband is convinced no one has any use for this PC and simply wants to trash it. I figure that someone can use it if only to use it for the word documents. Would my local school system or even a goodwill/salvation army store accept it happily? Any other suggestions? One problem is that we cannot perform a restoration on it because we have lost the key/code to perform this function. It is a Sony PCV-230.

When windows starts up, you have the blue bar going accross under the windows xp pro logo, well, after, 1 and a half times the mechine will restart.

I turned of the restart, and then after the 1.5 times i got the blue screen of death, like i wanted.

I got the tech number 0x000000ED (0x86FSEC08, 0xC0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

My question is, that we got windows XP disks, loads of them, but, the computer came with no reboot disks. I am asking, if we got the product number, can i use any of the disks to reinstall or fix whats wrong with the computer? Or dose each xp disk have its own product code?

Here is my main problem, My little sister needs to use the PC for coursework, so it needs to be sorted out, like 2 weeks ago, and I think there are some parts of her work on the computer she eneds to get to, so i cant do a general reinstall, i need to repair it all.

Need more info? contact me on yahoo messenger, gaogier.

I have an e-machine and have had zero problems till two days ago. I turn on my computer and I hear the fan turn on, my wireless mouse/keyboard receiver is powered, and my cable modem shows it connects with the computer. What doesn't happen is the computer won't turn all the way on or something. The green light that normally comes on in the front now doesn't. I also do not see anything on the monitor. It is like it starts to turn on but then stops. What should I do??? This is very frustrating!

I am planning on selling my Dell Computer that has windows xp installed. I have had this for about an year.
My question is, since all these days i had so much of private information on this computer how do i delete all of the files so that they never can be retrieved.
If i just delete files and sell the computer, files can be recovered. The only way they cannot be retrieved is if i do a format or even better low-level format. However, i do not want to mess up my existing windows xp and other other softwares.
Which leaves me with only one choice. Delete the files "somehow" so that they cannot be retrieved.

Hope i made my query clear.

Thanks in advance.
