I have just bought an Intel Extreme QX6850 and im not on the hunt for a motherboard, I understand it either Asus or Gigabyte that i'll have to go for but im not sure what to get, budget is not a question at the moment. 1333 FSB, 8gb RAM capacity, SLI support gigabit LAN etc are things I would want on the board thanks

It should have been the ASUS Blitz Extreme, but it only supports Crossfire. If you want SLI, this is it:

My personal favorite is MSI motherboards. They are very good quality, not overpriced, and have great customer service behind them.

Do a little research on their site (below). Make sure that the specifications of the motherboard meet or exceed the specs of your components (CPU, Memory, aux. cards).

I like ASUS.

But check out Tigerdirect.com and look under motherboards.
Lots of choices and good prices. Also ratings by users of the boards.

ASUS striker Extreme, or any of the Nforce 680i boards are good runner-ups.
