Both should be the same form factor, which is a standard for determining the size and shape of the case and the power supply to fit it. These will be identified as ATX, MicroATX, BTX, etc.
For power supplies, you need to focus on quality. Do not cheap out on this part, it is responsible for stability of your system. Top brands include Antec, PC Power & Cooling, OCZ, and Thermaltake. More wattage is not going to help, but it does not hurt and will not use more electricity, go higher than you need to allow for upgrades. Look for active or passive PFC, which will increase efficiency. If you need SLI support, look for that. Multiple 12V rails are mostly marketing ploys. Finally, make sure it has the same main connector for power as your motherboard (20 or 24 pin).
On the case specifically, your focus should be on your needs and your future needs. Be sure there are enough drive bays for hard drives and media drives for what you plan to do. If you want audio, firewire or USB connectors up front, be sure to look for them.
The rest on cases I would say is not of consequence, however you should look at a website like http://www.newegg.com/ and read reviews of the case you want if you can find it. They'll give you an idea of any problems people are encountering with cooling or design.

You can pick up old cases for a lot less money, they aren't always very pretty but they are often a lot stronger than many new cases - budget priced ones are paper thin.
The power supply unit (PSU) is a critical component, buy a good quality one or you risk shorting out the motherboard. Use this website to figure out how much power you need:

Hi. The case must fit your motherboard and should have plenty of places for fans. The power supply should be high quality. http://www.slcentral.com/dual-12v-psu-shootout/
