hi just looking for a bit of advice on whether this spec computer will be any good for playing todays next gen games at all or whether something needs to be better is so what and what should it be upgraded to, thanks

intel core 2 duo e6550 6.550Mhz (combined)
2GB ddr2 ram memory
320GB HDD
Nvidia 7200 512mb

Nvidia 7200 512mb= really bad. Your cpu and ram are plenty fine. You need to get hooked up with a 8 series card 8500 or higher. DX09 cards are obsolete!

Everything looks great EXCEPT the graphics card. It is anemic even with its 512mb memory. Here are some options:
Cheap= 7300GT ddr3 (but DX9 only), 8400GS (bang for the buck DX10)

Better= 8600GT or GTS, X1950 Pro (DX9)
Awesome= 8800GTS, GTX, Ultra (Requires a big power supply with at least 30 amps on the +12V rail).

Other three parts look good, the video card is junk. If you want good performance, look for something in the GeForce 8800 or HD 2900 range, or for a little less the Radeon X1950 or GeForce 7950 range.
