The fan turns on, means the Power Supply Unit is working on at least the rail that powers the 'fan'.
that could be the 12volt rail.
The 5 volt rail powers the data that brings up the hard drives.
But, the mouse/keyboard remote (bluetooth, probably) is powering up, and they run on the 5 Volt rail!
So, the main board is not starting up it's clock.
That could be a failure on the mainboard, or a loose Memory module, or a loose connector!
I would power down, unplug/remove the AC Mains cord, open the case, and gently press on the memory modules, and the main power connector, of 20 or 24 wires that goes to the PSU.
Make sure all drive connectors and wires are snug on both ends.
Plug in the AC cord, and before putting the side of the case on, power up the unit, and look to see that the CPU fan is spinning.
If not spinning, your CPU could have become overheated and fried.
If so, see if the system boots up, and put the side back on. If no boot, you will be seeing the shop.
Just don't reach in and touch anything as you could damage stuff if you pull wires out while it is running.
All dangerous voltages are supposed to be guarded and inside the PSU. As long as you don't touch anything else, it is not likely you will do harm.
Beyond this requires a shop put it on the bench.
If you get white text on the screen, then the board is booting, and the hard drive is fried.
If you don't get anything on the screen, then the board is dead, or the CPU is fried. My shop gets $45 for diagnostics, that is rolled into the price of working on the system, for the first hour.
My shop rate is $90 an hour. So, that board, if it is bad, would be one hour labor.
If the board has to be replaced with a different make/model, then the fussing with Windows to change the drivers often adds an hour labor.
I have seen computer towers on sale for ~$200 at Pricewatch.com, that are barebones, needing only some RAM and the drives.

Sounds like a power supply-not too expensive.
Spend about 30 dollars at newegg.com to replace it--but first, check the capacitors on the motherboard, especially around the processor. The capacitors are small cylinders perhaps an inch tall and 1/4 to 1/2 inch across. The have a flat, shiny top with crossed lines-if the top is bulging or oozing crud, your motherboard is bad. eMachines has known issues with bad capacitors, and may take responsibility and replace the motherboard.
Here's a picture of bad capacitors:

E-Machine does not have a very good reputation with computers I swear.
My second computer to buy for my network was an e-machine, it lasted four days.
If the green light is not coming on, it is a power problem internally. One thing I would try is switching out the power boxes in the back; I also had this problem with my wifes computer, switched the boxes, it worked fine.
If you need any further help, let me know.

Take the side off, and while holding the power button in {from off} see if the fan on the CPU is running. If not, or it tries to start and stops, it is your power supply. Also, reseat your graphics card and RAM. Emachines motherboards are also suspect. The only thing i still have on mine that came with it is RAM and the case. Good luck!

The Emachine line is known for having PSU (power supplies) that fail rather quickly. This is something that you are almost going to have a person that is professional as it will take testing of the major components inside the tower.

power grant is the two shot or you're growing to be to be a secondary toggle turn on the flexibility grant itself. verify the back, make helpful all connections are tight (plugged in precise) and that there is not any turn on the flexibility grant. If all is in suitable order and you nonetheless cant power on, the indoors power grant is undesirable. stable new is they're much less costly and because its a e-gadget maximum replacements will in wonderful condition into it without project.
