A good all around computer.
It can be used for many things besides gaming.

VIDEO: a geforce 8500gt does this have ddr2? if it does then its really not worth it. And if its a gigabyte ddr3 its pure junk.

Yes its a good deal just make sure its top of the line high end 8500gt. at least 600core 1400memory....stock speed

A good 8500gt would be asus or leadtek ddr3.

Check mine out LeadTek GeForce 8500GT 256MB DDR3.
CoreClock @ 729 mhz Memory clock @ 1620 mhz and it rocks!
You dont need a 8800 unless your a spoiled n00b that has to have the best of the best endless money supply. Best bang for the buck is better.

8600gt or high end 8500gt

that is a very wonderful configuration, indeed.
but i would sacrifice sound card for better video card.
most motherboard already have great on-board sound adapter, you just need great speakers.
for video card, i prefer at least 8800 gts 320mb.

don't worry about your choice though,
it is your life, anyway.
good luck.

How much RAM does it have. You best check the specs on Vista and boost it by 2.

The price is fairly good for what you are getting, but you definately need a better graphics card, the 8500GT is junk for gaming.

i recommed you get a higher PSU, 500W may not be enough to run your graphics card, i recommend around 750W. also you may want to re-think your graphics card, flight simulator X is a very demanding game!
