My specs are
Intel Core 2 Duo concroe extreme 2.93 ghz
Ati Radeon x1900xtx
2 gb ram
soundblaster sound card

Anyways my comp temps usually go between 76 F to about 86 F. It is usually idle around 78 F. I was wondering if that temp was bad. I was just scared that my comp was overheating when it goes over 80 F.

I have an older PC in my house its about 5 years old, not that old, but the problem was that everyone who came over would use it, my little cousin who lives with me would mess around with it...
nobody uses it anymore, but now its all screwed up, a bunch of viruses, it doesn't have sound and it won't even go online.

I want to restore the original windows xp settings and files,
I don't care about any saved data or software that it might still have.

its a premio, with windows xp

i need someone to tell me what i need, any software/hardware
and what i have to do.
if you need more info e-mail me at deserst0rm@yahoo.com

thank you

I don't quite get with the new intel viiv technology of what's the use of it? Is it built for entertainment purposes?

And what is the latest processor today? quad core?

I going to use intel viiv and win vista premium for my new PC, but not sure whether they are fit for both programming and entertainment?

My computer has 512MB of RAM, I increased the PF Usage and set to 4096 MB. Since PF usea portion of the actual harddrive for this I set it to be used on my external hard drive. I noticed a considerable increase in preformance. Will this little tweak have any adverse effects on my PC?

My Sound Card doesn't work anymore and its very old, so I decided to remove it until I get a modern one.

Now how do I enable it so that I can plug in the speaker wires on the motherboard? I did this and there was no sound input available.

I installed AC97 and it says that it cannot start, I reinstalled it and still... C-Media still has the same problem, or i guess there both the same.

When It was working, it was in the input, but when I play a sound file, I hear nothing.

So how do I get my sound working? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I just bought a new pc, my old one was atleast 15 years or more old. I'm new to this stuff. ALOT has changed!

OK. When I go to "my computer" (WIN XP) it lists 4 different 'removable' disks. When I go to properties, it says device is working properly, and shows a "pie"=0%. It makes me feel stupid, asking this, but Are these removable disks, slots for me to ADD more hard physical drives, or are they actually AVAILABLE hard drives , that I can store things on?

I don't know. I tried calling HP, hardly anyone there speaks english very well. I tried their website, but it doesn't explain exactly what they're for. I guess it's the words"removable" combined with"disks",that's throwing me a curve. Could you please help me? I don't know who else to ask. I figured, I would feel more stupid later, if I didn't ask, and found out later, that I could have been using these disks all along. Are (F)(G)(H)(I) the same thing as drive C: & D: How can I find out?

I turned on my emachine desktop today, there were just one message show up on boot, it gives me two options "Press F2 to go to BIOS, Press Esc to restart computer". I tried to press F2, Esc, but there is no response. I tried to boot CD, no luck. I tried to press Del key continously for going into BIOS (like I alway did), no luck.
What's happended on my desktop? Is my CPU dead?

Thanks everybody
