There is no ultimate desktop computer, it depends how you customize it.
I think apple makes great computers, but not that good for gaming. Try dell or gateway for gaming.
Mac is good for music, editing, and video stuff, as well as AIM and web. Mac is good for personal stuff.

"I just mainly use my computer right now for video editing, music, surfing the web, AIM, and sometimes for gaming."
You only want it for that, and you still want the Ultimate desktop?
Anyways, here's the ultimate system:
http://www.alienware.com/product_detail_Pages/area-51_alx/area-51_overview.aspx?SysCode=PC-AREA51-ALX-R6&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT
With all the upgrades you can get, it will round $10,000
However, if you are not ready to pay that much,I will recommend a Dell XPS :

Dell sells their machines cheaper than anyone else because they use cheap parts. Dell is the Hyundai of computers. Falcon and Alienware use top of the line components, they are the Rolls Royce.
Want a Alienware for half the price....Build It.... if you can make a box out of legos, you can build your own PC. Just configure one on a website, copy down what they use and order your parts from http://www.tigerdirect.com or http://www.mwave.com

I would suggest an alienware computer, they dont come cheap but they're great for multimedia editing and amazing for gaming.
Or you could always just get a gateway or compaq and just update teh graphics cards and precesser, and probably hard disk upgrade if your plnning on having alot of media and games (i got 80G of space and its full so i am getting a external hard drive)

Any brand that is not a dell would work just fine. I as well as others I have talked to have had bad experience with dell. We have a dell desktop and it's pretty junk, not to mention the fact that dell tech support bite.
I prefer the hp computer, I have had great experience with them and their tech support is great and awarding winning. here is a link to some that work into what your looking for.
