Need to know of a program or method whereby I can move some of the avavilable space over to another side of the hard drive. This is a 60 gb harddrive, split with a partition, designating C and D as drives, I need to move space from D to C, due to too small of a partition. If it matters I am running windows 200 pro. on an asus board. with a western digital hard drive.

Two times now, I've returned to my office to see my computer sitting at the boot screen telling me that I've inserted an invalid system disk (or that nvldr is missing if there's no disk in the drive). Last time this happened I eventually figured out that the bios had somehow changed the boot order of my hard drives and switching them back solved the problem. Only for it to happen again.

It's only happening when I'm not using the PC (downloads and email still running).

I've got an AMD 3200+ withd 2gb of ram (DDR400) and an Asus 6600GT. I've just added 1gb of ram, but I matched the manufacturer, speed, size and everything else, and it seems unlikely to be causing the problem.

Any thoughts?

I have all the jumpers in the correct places and can find the drive in the device manager. When I troubleshoot it says that the device is working properly but it won't show up in "my computer." What is wrong??

When I turned it on this morning it started to make this strange noise like if it wanted to explode. This has happened in a few occasions but is when I turn on the air conditioner all night. I wonder if the cold temperature affects the computer.

I have an Creative Audigy DF80 and it works fine on analog stereo output. [i haven't tryed 5.1 analog output]. On the digital out jack, the sound card should send digital signal throught a mono jack linked to a RCA jack, using an external AC3 decoder. [My decoder is working fine... Sony STR-DE695]. Now the problem is that using "digital output only" my sound stops for like a second than works again. On my decoder appears again the input [PCM 48 kHz] or Dolby Digital 3/2.1 [depends on what i listen or watch. What could the problem be?? Is my cable not good for this tipe of connection? Just when I thought I had the processor thing fiured out I'm lost. I've been wanting to buy a Dell with a 3 or 2.8 Gz processing speed, but now there's been a twist to it all. It seems like Dell now has processors called AMD Athlon and Intel Core 2 Duo. What's the difference? I could figure it out when everything was Gz... the more the better, but now these new terms I don't understand. Please tell me what's better, and if saving a few bucks buying one with the 3.0 or 2.8 Gz is just as good... Thanks!!!

I am thinking of buying one. I am pretty good at upgrading (adding ram and the like) so I can make a base computer into a really good one as I get more money.

I want to find out my computers:

chip type
RAM
Processor speed
Hard Drive capacity
graphic card power

How do I do this? Is there a menu in system tools somewhere, or do I have to start opening up my tower?

Currently using RZ series MoBO w/ 754 socket, and a sempron 2200. Want to go to PCI supported interface for graff's, but only a month or 2 ago, bought a GeForce 6600c-er nice card for under 250.
so any input there would be great. But when I go to change over, besides being careful not to bump or static anything, what should I expect from the OS and other hardware? Can I do it smoothly?
thx in advance for helping me here. God bless our troops.
