When I turned it on this morning it started to make this strange noise like if it wanted to explode. This has happened in a few occasions but is when I turn on the air conditioner all night. I wonder if the cold temperature affects the computer.

It sounds like you have a fan that is starting to go bad. Most fans in a computer last only a few years, they will begin to "squeal" when they are going bad. It could be the nose you are hearing. If the noise reduces as the computer heats up, more than likely its the fan/s. It could be a system fan, one that is cooling the internal parts or it could be the power supply fan. If you listen closely when you turn it on, you should be able to determine which it is. If its a power supply fan, they are not so easy to replace. System fans, on the other hand are fairly simple it replace and are cheap.
Hope this helps.

The cold does not effect computers (unless we are talking about below zero temperatures). What does effect computers are heat and power. If your air conditioner is on the same breaker switch as the computer try plugging the computer into a different outlet and see if it works ok. An under volt could cause power supply problems.

Cold temperature is good for computer. Very good to keep a bunch of machine parts cool so it is not that. Noise from computer is usually a few things, either fans operating, which means that it is HOT, the hard drive storing information, which runs all the time if you are downloading or have a p2p client such as kazaa. or it is your power supply, which if it is making a lot of noise, is either too hot. or not adequate for your system, or about to kill over (cricket sound). Hope this helps.

it should work even better at cold, unless the temprature is "too" low but then u would be frozen too. but noise may come from the plastic or metallic parts of your pc too, like your tower or drives that are moved a bit, have u tried pushing some parts on different sides of the tower to see if the noise stops? try this, if nothing happens wait for your power supply to explode and then go buy another one :)) lol

Check the case fans, CPU fan, and the fan on the video card (if it has one), but don't discount the HDD. You may have a hard drive that is about to self destruct.

cold temperature does'nt affect pc but if the pc is somewhere direct to the ac the moisture will harm it.

it shouldn't, it might be a lack of electricity. Then again there could be a build up of condensation, or a contraction of the wires and metals in the computer.
