Do u have nero or Roxio burning software? Yur friends shud have it. XP Has a built in Burning utility. Put a blank cd in the drive. Whatever files u want to burn, right click and click send to and then sent to the name of yur CDR drive. Laterz.

Go to the device manager, in the right pane, tic on "DVD/CD-ROM Drives", then right tic on the offending drive and select "uninstall", then restart the computer. Your drivers for your CD have become corrupt.

This could be may things. Have you installed anything new, updated any software, changed your computer in any way??? Maybe try a system restore to before you were having the problem.
