easy to connect 2 pcs to phone line with splitter but this is not the way to to get 2 pcs online at once, to do this you set one pc up to dial the internet, then either with a crossover network cable (or wireless lan cards) you connect the 2 pcs via the lan ports and go to network connection wizard set one pc up so it says this computer connects directly to the internet and the other pc so it says connect through residential gateway or computer on my network. (network connection wizard can be found in the control panel) note these instruction are for xp if you have some older version of windows you will need to set up the ip addresses etc..but with xp its quite easy just open connection wizard and follow instructions, assuming you have setup necessary hardware first. you can find further info about internet connection sharing here http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/

just a phone splitter. you plug it into the wall jock and it has two jack you can plug into. now you won't be able to have them both in the internet at the same time unless you do some networking. I'm not sure how you would od it with dial-up. maybe a switch, or router. not sure

Your phone requires faster usb. A usb 2.0 card can be bought and installed on most desktops fairly easily. I did mine for less than 20 dollars and in under 20 minutes.

I am sure if you go to your local radio shack it will be cheaper though.
