I would like to be able to run Windows Vista Premium when available..To do so I need to upgrade my GPU what is a descent card that will run Windows Vista Premium Aero Glass? It has to be AGP interface. I don't want to purchase a real expensive card due to the fact that it will not suport DirectX 10.

I'm seriously thinking about building my own computer from individual components bought seperately, and then assembling it all myself.

Any good sites on step by step processes on doing so, and pointers and suggestions on what type of components you need to purchase for your individual needs like motherboards, processors, etc...?

Also, should I just get a whole new custom PC alltogether? Right now, I have a $600 dollar budget and rising. Also, I don't have much experience installing PC parts, so that might be another cost. So, should I get a whole new PC, or upgrade the parts one by one?

Are there any programs you guys know of that will make it extreamly difficult to recover data off a hard drive. I've formated the drive so it seems like notthing is there. But from what I understand data can still be recovered. If I do a low level format will that make it difficult. Will a full format make it difficult as well.

I have a question regarding motherboards a few hours ago. Im wondering, Dual core vs Single Core. Which is better? Why? If you are building a Game machine piece by piece but I dont want anything to fancy or pricey. Im loking for a processor for speeds between 2.0 Ghz-2.6Ghz. I know dual cores are expensive, but give me your thought on each.

I have a HP running Windows XP. I removed a DVD burning program(not the system program, a not so legal one) and now I can't burn CD's or put my pictures on DVD!! I checked my DVD and CD and the computer tells me they are both working correctly. I don't want to lose all the pictures I have saved because I don't have a lot of them saved anywhere else!

In BIOS, i see that its detected in my motherboard. i have 40gig seagate which is my primary and the maxtor as slave.

WHen i opened windows, a found new hardware pops out and i saw that it was succesfully installed.

when i open my my computer, i saw only 2 drives- my C: and the D: having the D: as the partition of my 40Gig seagate. i saw nothing else.

i went to the device manager/disk drives and i saw 2 drives, the seagate and the maxtor and in the maxtor properties, i saw that its running properly and yet, i cant find it in the my computer.

what to do?
