Do you even see your cd unit in my computer? If not, either the connector is loose or the drive took a dump! Aint no virus to it!

The best thing to do try replacing the CD-ROM OR DVD-ROM with a used CD drive that will probably Fix's Ur problem and Save U $$$money. If that doesn’t Fix's Your problem, buy a NEW CD Drive Install the Driver and that's going to take care of Ur problem.

Your drivers may be corrupt. Go to the device manager, in the right pane look for "DVD/CD-ROM Drives" tic on that, then right tic on the drive that doesn't work. Select "uninstall" and restart the computer. This will reload the drivers for you.
