How does my Dell desktop know when to turn up the fans to high when it doesn't have a CPU thermal sensor.?

Just curious. It doesn't have any sensors and yet it can adjust to medium and louder and louder.

The motherboard may have sensors that may not be on the CPU itself, which can trigger fans.
