I am thinking of buying one. I am pretty good at upgrading (adding ram and the like) so I can make a base computer into a really good one as I get more money.

EMachines use the cheapest parts to keep cost down. They are ok for normal stuff like web surfing, listening to music, word processing, etc. If you more into video or gaming, then stay away from it. If you insist on getting one, make sure the CPU is not a Celeron or AMD's Sempron as they are crappy.

My sister had one and it never worked right. She used to come to my house and use ours because hers was so bad.
