Well, I just want to speed up my computer and someone told me to disable the flashcards on my computer and it will speed it up. Is this true?

Since it may be possible to restore files that have been removed from the recycle bin, where did these files go? They must still be on the hard disk somewhere!

I need to set my computer back to ist original shape. I have an application and driver recovery DVD, as well as an operating system CD withe the Microsoft Windows XP home edition service pack 2. Unfortunatly I dont know the process of how to go about solving the problem.

My CPU fan is really load, how can i quiet it down?!?

The CPU temperature seems to be fine (~40 Celcius or slightly higher when I am really using it).
I tried using a program called SpeedFan, but it cannot control the fan speed.
I tried the options in the bios, and I enabled speed control (wasn't sure about "start" and "pwm" values, so I left them at their defaults of 40 and 50.

I am using a P4M800Pro-M (v2.) motherboard, an Intel Core 2 Duo e6300 CPU, and a Termaltake TR2 M21 RX cpu fan. Running Vista Premium 32-bit on my PC.

Any computer geniuses out there that might have an answer for me?

I am looking to buy an LCD, flat panel monitor around 17-20 inches, widescreen for about $200. I would mainly be using it for my Xbox 360 because I want to try and get as close to HD as I can without blowing thousands of dollars on an HD TV. I would also be using the monitor for my computer so that's why it would help me in both ways.

I do not know if it is the power chord or what else it could be. My computer works with the battery in it but my battery is almost dead and it won't charge. When I take the batter out of my computer and just try to get power throught the chord it will not work at all. Any suggestions?

I just purchased a laptop and it automatically came with windows Vista. I was trying to download some games and it won't let me.
I had my friend (computer wiz) looked at it and he can't even figure out what the problem is. Should I return the laptop? Or should I take my laptop somewhere else to fine out what the problem is? but where?

My computer is freakin loud.

I know it's the fan, and plan on replacing it.


Is it the case fan or the power supply fan? The case fan is the one I think is making all the noise. The case fan is indeed the one on the very back that is rather large, correct?


Any tips for instalation or what kind of fan to buy?

I have acer AL1711, and every time I edit settings on it, like more 10 pixels to the right, it saves it, but the next time I start my computer its back to defaults..does anyone know how to save the settings or anything that would help me..

Well, the problem is related to the school. Ok..my laptop had a little virus and I went to have it fix at my college campus which they fix your computers for free..about wks later, they returned it back unfixed and broken. Well, my laptop was cracked at the hinges but it was only on the left side and when I gave it to them they made it worst..broken all the way on 2 sides and worst of all they made it to a point where the computer won't even turn on. They power doesn't work anymore. When I went and talk to all the heads they have, all said that the school is not responsible and won't do anything.....they said my laptop was cracked and everytime when they open it and close it the wires could be broken which connected to the screen so it cause the whole machine to turn off and broken.They said it was a hardware problem of mine and suggest I should send it to the shop. Now i dont kno wat 2 do since ive already talk 2 all the head ppl in charge of this@ da school n they wont do me any good

I have a IBM Thinkpad R31, it has a S-Video out but i cannot get it to display on my TV....I have the TV set for the right channel for using the S-Video (Tv/video 1) but when i try to display my laptop on my TV it will not work....Any suggestions??

Hi. My laptop broke and I took the hard drive out of it to save the vital information that was on there. I bought a new laptop but now realize I have to wipe my old hard drive to use it in the new one.

Do I have to wipe it or is there a way I can transfer that data to another location first? Thanks.
