Hardware - February 2007

Am going to use it at home for personal use. Want to start scanning alot of old pictures & print them & also print out other things in color & black & white.

I'm only looking for a Cannon or HP only.

Any suggestions on what model to buy/compare?

I am thinking about buying a laptop, and a girl at my school with a macbook said that since she got that she would never by a non-mac computer again.

I have heard a lot of people say things like that, but I don't think I have ever heard the the reverse. Yet no one really spells it out why. I wish I could like rent a mac just to test it out.

But if someone can tell me what the real difference is I would be really greatful. Thanks

. they are four beeps they same length of time then everything freezes and computer does not respond to ctrl-alt-delete. i have to turn it off in order to restart it. does anybody know why this might be?

My printer won't print anything that's in a Word document. I can print e-mails and PDFs, but not anything in Word.

It says 'No disc in the drive' when I insert audio cd or even blank cd. However, it's still working with DVD (I can watch movies). I don'tknow much in computer. I am not sure it's because of the drive or software.

I am trying to assemble a new Desktop computer for myself and I've been having lots of trouble with the motherboard.
I've bought brand new Motherboard and Processor and I am sure that they are compatible with each other. I have also checked my Power Supply and it works perfectly fine.

Apart from the long problem.. I want to know that even if i don't connect any of the connectors from the case to the motherboard (PLED, HLED etc.) the computer still turns on as soon as plug the power cable in the Power Supply.

Is this a normal behavior or is it a dead motherboard ??
