I am thinking about buying a laptop, and a girl at my school with a macbook said that since she got that she would never by a non-mac computer again.
I have heard a lot of people say things like that, but I don't think I have ever heard the the reverse. Yet no one really spells it out why. I wish I could like rent a mac just to test it out.
But if someone can tell me what the real difference is I would be really greatful. Thanks

Macs are more "user friendly" i guess. PCs have much more room for customization. it is really a matter of preference. Personally i like control of every aspect of my computer. Not just the background and a component here and there.
Macs are better for video editing than a PC. But how many people edit their own videos?!
Macs do not have viruses or spyware....Who wants to go after 3% of the worlds population?! go after the big dogs (Windows)
PCs have more compatible software...Mac users can't argue this point...cause it is true. If you play any games go with a PC you won't regret it.
Some say Macs are uncrashable....that is bull...give me 5 mins with one and i will make it crash.
By default macs come with only one mouse button....no right click...no mouse wheel...SUCKS!!!
Macs are now using PC parts....WHAT THE HELL?!...their own parts weren't good enough?!

Some people just want to be different for the sake of being different. Macs are better for two things: Running design software, and running video editing software. For general purpose computing you want a PC. PCs are better for this because:
1. Any company that releases software releases it in a format that will work on a PC. Meaning there is a wider variety for PC.
2. They are the standard, meaning that just about anyone knows how to use them.
3. More PCs means lower prices. Macs are overpriced. You can get a PC for much cheaper.
4. Maybe this is worded a bit harshly, but owning a Mac gives people who know a negative impression about you. Wanting to be different for the sake of being different is a sign of inexperience and wavering sense of self. Of course, if you plan to use the computer for mainly design or video editing, this does not apply.

Mac's are great for graphics, and they have fewer viruses, simply because the majority of all viruses, spam, and junk is aimed at Microsoft Windows. Microsoft is PC, and is the world's favorite target for abuse, mainly because 85-90percent of the world's computers run on Windows. You can't run Microsoft programs yet on Mac's, and again, a majority of the world's businesses use Microsoft office products.
If you ask a Mac user which he/she likes best they will tell you a Mac. If you ask a PC user the same question, you'll get the PC answer. Preference is in the opinion of the user.

It's easyer to crack software (but don't tell anyone)
Rarely crashes
No annoying dll files
No searching for drivers and uninstalling trialware

Mac users think differently and prefer the flavor.
Go to your local apple store and play with one.

It's many things. The biggest I think is, although Windows is ok when you get it working, getting it working is a pain sometimes and on the MAC, not so much. Just my 2 cents.

I myself can't stand Macs.. Give me a PC anytime.. But, in response to your question.. In my personal opinion.. They're alot more stable.. Fewer reports on crashing as such. Hope that helps.

I have friends who just LOVE Macs. I prefer the IBM compatibles (PC) myself.
You will never know unless you buy one.

I'm not sure but i think its easier to use, and there is less spyware and viruses for macs.But they are expensive!

macs r tons faster and they have a good reputation. they also have a bigger hardrive which allows u to have more docs or music on it.
