I'm running an Asus p5p800 motherboard with socket775 and a Pentium 4 3.2Ghz processor. Graphics board is Radeon 9250 128Mb. Monitor is a Samsung syncmaster 151s. Wrote to AMD customer support who advised updating the BIOS and graphics drivers and fiddling with refresh rates. This now done it still happens. Also reseated the graphics board in case of poor connections. Thinking maybe my graphics board is needing replaced but appreciate any other pointers. Had heard that this Radeon model is inherently unstable too?

Hi, I would like to either create or buy (whichever is the cheaper way) a file server that can hold at least 1.5 terabytes of data and it can be used by at least two computers. What is the best way to go about it?

I read about setting it up using RAID 5 on Windows XP and Linux (but not on anything relating to Windows 2000 or 2003), i also saw Buffalo Technology's Terabyte Station, but I don't know if two computers can access it at the same time.

Last night i went to print something and it wouldn't, upon further inspection it told me that my printer was not connected. I unplugged all the leads and put them back. still no joy. I then plugged in my USB memory stick and i got a message stating "A USB device has malfunctioned click here for solutions" I then plugged in an external hard drive and i got the same message. However i am able to plug my camera in and transfer images across. If i go into device manager it tells me i have "unknown device" It was working the other day and now nothing apart from the camera works --- HELP!

I recently acquired a computer with a Gigabite mb...GA-7ZMM rev.1.2. It has an AMD Athlon cpu. OS is windows ME.
The system was running fine untill it was accidently shut down from the switch on back of the power supply. ( I think, my kid was on it) Now, all it does when I turn it on is start the cpu fan. One time the cd tray was able to open, now it doesn't even do that. Any help would be appreciated.

I bought a new TV & a lead whic connects from my laptop to my tv basically a 15pin monitor lead, everything comes up on the tv as on the laptop screen, but when playing a video file through Real Player or Windows Media Player or other player, the actual video whch you can see on the laptop screen playing is only a purple square on the TV.

But pictures, music & everything else comes out on tv exactly as on the laptop screen.

You get the software open and the timer and title but not the actual video which is on the laptop screen.

I tried my PC and it worked fine as a 42" Monitor including playing video files such as avi, mpeg, divx???

In the specs for some computers, it says "up to 128MB Shared Memory" for video card. I am not sure what the "up to" is referring to.

I have a PC which I use as a server for playing backup copies of my DVD's on my home entertainment system. It has an 80Gb and a 350Gb hard disk already. I want to buy a 750Gb drive and simply add it in if possible. Anybody done this or would I be better to swap out one of the smaller drives. I'd rather keep the existing setup and connect the new drive up as well but it occurred to me that I have run out of ribbon cable connectors as I also have two DVD drives. Is it possible or advisable to buy an extension cable for a new drive for both data and power? Thanks.

Last nite my husband attempted to reboot his computer. When it shut down, the power turned off the CPU and it would not reboot again. Tried unplugging, and replugging to no avail. Didn't smell anything burning inside the case. Any ideas?

I am a retail sales trainer, and this question came up. All new laptops at a retail location now come with Windows Vista. If we are to have any success with selling the KPC650, we need to have a working driver for Vista. Any thoughts?

I want to connect my desktop's monitor to my laptop and use both simultaneously under Windows XP. I tried plugging the monitor into the VGA output on the laptop. It said "No signal input". Then I pressed Fn+F8 (for toggling displays). The image remained on the laptop, but the second laptop read "Signal input out of range". I pressed it again, the image disappeared from the laptop's own display, but the other display still read "Signal input out of range". The third time I pressed it it was back to image on laptop and "no signal input" on the second monitor.

I tried playing with the resolution for both displays, but all stayed the same.

Do you have any suggestions how to do it?

About 3 weeks ago our monitor went haywire (faulty colors)...I checked it through my laptop and it was fine though. Now it won't show anything, and hooking up another monitor to this computer shows nothingas well. I figured it was the video card going since the green light on the computer shows up. I don't hear anything through my speakers though on start up. Could it be the motherboard? Could it be the video card? We were just about to transfer some files (PC Relocator) to a brand new computer but I can't see to do anything...what do I do? It's more family pictues that I want to save than anything, and some other programs.

How much fast/better would be a PC with Pentium4 2.8 MHz 4MB cache processor than a PC with Pentium4 2.8 MHz 2MB cache processor, assuming that the remaining specs are same.
(I have to pay only £30 more for everything same but a processor with 4MB cache instead of 2MB)
Professional opinion required

Thanks in Advance
