Last night i went to print something and it wouldn't, upon further inspection it told me that my printer was not connected. I unplugged all the leads and put them back. still no joy. I then plugged in my USB memory stick and i got a message stating "A USB device has malfunctioned click here for solutions" I then plugged in an external hard drive and i got the same message. However i am able to plug my camera in and transfer images across. If i go into device manager it tells me i have "unknown device" It was working the other day and now nothing apart from the camera works --- HELP!

try reinstalling drivers. look in the device manager. right-click on the usb and go to properties. there it will give you info about the drivers. you can reinstall them, look for the lastest ones, or even repair i believe. if that doesn't work, you might want to call you pc manufacturer and get their input. good luck!

well it is either hardware or software if the motherboard usb controller has gone down then it is unfixable but you can use a pci usb card controller instead.
This is unlikely if some devices are still working so it is more likely the drivers have crashed. I
f you have the original motherboard driver disk the run that if not find the usb in control panel > system > hardware > device manager - click on usb and right click on the devices and select update driver
