MY computer is slow booting up, slow starting Limewire, iTunes, Mozilla Browser, etc. My dads computer has about over 60 programs, alot of spyware ( After scanning his Computer ), Alot of Temp files; and his computer goes like hell!

Mine has only 25 programs, no spyware, no junk;and it runs like crap.

I have 127 RaM.
\He has 256 RaM. If I buy 2- 128Mb RAM cards totaling up to 256, will it run better? And will it only take aminute booting, startimg Limewire, iTunes, Mozilla Browser Etc.??
Also see if you can find cheap good worth paying for RAM cards.
My computer is a Toshiba Tecra 8000..,,..

Before I continue, here are my system specs.
(They are relevant to my question):
AMD Athlon 64 4000+ CPU, 4GB Dual Channel DDR 400RAM (4 sticks of 1GB), 3 x 250GB SATA Hard Drives, 512MB PCI Express PNY nVidia GeForce 7600 Graphics Card.

Understanding the 4GB memory limitation in 32bit operating systems and that even with 4GB installed - Windows will only report 3.5GB with remapping enabled in the BIOS due to the PCIE card as well as other hardware components, I am wondering which configuration will improve performance:
2x1GB sticks and 2x512MB sticks to keep the Dual Channel but reduce the memory to 3GB
or:
4x1GB sticks as I have now.
We all know that neither Windows 32bit nor any applications use over 2GB in one process - hence my thoughts on lowering the memory to 3GB (2 for processes and 1 for hardware.
Does anyone have the answer? I would use the 64bit Vista but cannot because of the lack of drivers and software.

I am on my laptop right now, but i want to fix my living room computer. It is a HP Pavilion a819n. I guess i tried installing a Windows Vista Demo, the computer stopped working. I start the computer up and it won't let me do a system restore. I DO NOT HAVE A DISK TO REINSTALL WINDOWS XP. Windows won't start up, it says i need a key, but i installed a demo, and i want my Windows XP back. Is there anyway i can delete everything off of my computer to get it back the way it was? My Dell came with the back-up Operating System on the hard drive, not on a separate CD disk. Is there a way to copy the setup Windows XP OS onto a CD in case my hard drive goes bad and I need to load the OS on a new hard drive?

Where would I find the back-up OS on my hard drive, and how would I copy it? I have Nero.

I'm looking for a compaq presario running windows XP for my parents. Can't find at big box stores because they cleared the shelves when Vista came out.
