Well I was trying to fix a broken dc jack on my laptop and I broke the touch pad cable clip where it attaches onto the system board. I tried to get it to clip back up and added a drop of super glue to it and the mouse pad doesnt work at all. Did the glue mess up the motherboard connection? Is the cable easily removable from the touch pad ? Any other ideas? Thanks John

Please don't assume anything, like the case has USB Ports in it.

Thanks!

This isn't an advertisement, this is a survey I'm taking for a project of mine. Please answer the following 3 questions.

1. Do you have more than one sound system used with any computer (i.e. speaker system & headphones, speaker system a & speaker system b, etc)?

2. Would you be interested in being able to toggle between the primary sound system and secondary sound system on your computer at the click of a button or key?

3. Would you be interested in merging two sound systems into one on your computer (i.e. 5.1+5.1 = 10.2) with little effort?

4. Any feedback?

Please list answers as:
1. Yes or No
2. Yes or No
3. Yes or No
4. Comments/questions...

I have a portable USB hard drive which works every where on other computers, but just not on my USB on my computer. It did work before, but just suddenly refused to work properly. It just seems to never stop reading the thing as the red light is on permanently when I plug it onto my computer. Does anyone have any solutions?

Thanks in advance.

1st the PC would restart on it's own and had alot of error messages. Changed the hard drive, starts to screen where you choose the start up method (safe mode, regular start, ect) then restarts no matter what you choose. Changed the power supply, no change. removed every part and replaced it one by one - no change. Checked the CPU, connected well, no apparent problems. Capacitors are not buldging. Please help

I have heard with Vista's first release it will have a lot of bugs. After the service pack comes out to fix those is the service pack1 free? How much (estimated) will it cost?

It completely died. Wouldn't boot up anymore, all I got was a "Load Error - Press any key to restart" message, and even after I ran the restore disk, got the same message when I tried to boot up afterward.

Took it to the repair shop last year when this happened and they had to put in a new hard drive because they said the drive was no longer recognizable. Won't waste money on that again...

Anyways, now I want to sell it on craigslist for parts, but I'm wondering if there was still a way for people to pull up personal information form the hard drive, even though I ran the restore disk (does that wipe out the hard drive?).

And I never stored personal information on it, I just viewed webpages that had personal information, like online banking and e-mail, so I don't know if it was stored in the internet cache or anything.

But would it even be accessible anymore if the hard drive is fugged? Is it safe to sell for parts?

i recently got a new computer and i like to play games on it like world of warcraft. the specs of my computer are 512mb 3200mhz ram, 80gb drive, sempron procesor 1.8ghz, geforce fx 5200 series 256mb video card. my prosessor is a bit slow and im getting new ram soon so i can play battlefield 2142 but i hear that i need a whole new motherboard for a processor. is there a place i can take my new pentium processor to so they can install it? will it make my computer run faster then just buying another 512mb ram to equal 1gb?

My laptop turned itself off and it wont turn back on, I don't know why it would have crashed because I recently scanned for viruses...It shouldn't be a battery problem because it was plugged into the wall, could the battery still have broken somehow? I can't think of why else it did this.

By pre-made, I mean a pre-configured one from HP or Dell or a big computer company like them.

By custom, I mean you pick your own case, prossesor, RAM, etc.

The space bar on my laptop is very stiff and therefore doesn't work unless I hit it really hard. The control key is the same too although the space bar is more annoying because I can't touch type properly any more. It isn't 'springy' anymore. What can I do?

I need to print up to 100-200 custom envelopes at a time. I'm using labels, but I think they look a little clunky. I'd love to print directly onto my nice envelopes. I can't find a printer at a reasonable home-pc price which even is a maybe. They all have the instructions in the books, but none of them will actually FEED even a small stack, from what I can read and learn. If anyone can suggest from experience a solution that actually works, I would be deeply in your debt. Thanks
