If so, most likely, your hard drive is dying quickly.
apart from that, there are the usual slew of problems.

The usual causes for random shutdowns are:
1)Overheating triggers auto-shutdown to protect the CPU;
2)Memory module going bad;
3)Power supply going bad.

Call toshiba. Even if your laptop is out of warranty, they will help you some basic stuff.
