1)Overheating triggers auto-shutdown to protect the CPU;
2)Memory module going bad;
3)Power supply going bad.

Call toshiba. Even if your laptop is out of warranty, they will help you some basic stuff.

insufficent memory, viruses, spyware, computer overheating, it can be any of these things.
