Well I was trying to fix a broken dc jack on my laptop and I broke the touch pad cable clip where it attaches onto the system board. I tried to get it to clip back up and added a drop of super glue to it and the mouse pad doesnt work at all. Did the glue mess up the motherboard connection? Is the cable easily removable from the touch pad ? Any other ideas? Thanks John

yes it sounds like the glue is blocking the connection, unless it just got damaged from handling it. i would not mess with it any more as trying to remove it when it's connected w/superglue you could do more damage to other components. what i would do is get a usb mouse, plug it in, and just not use the touchpad any more.

but the real question... did you get the dc jack fixed??? they can be such a pain!

No you probably aren't getting a good seating with the cable connection. Although if it powers on and you were manipulating the cable during that time, chances are you fried it. They are VERY sensitive to changes in voltage. maybe ebay.

Your computer needs some serious surgery dude. Take it to a repair store and see if they can replace the touchpad, it may cost you a pretty penny though.
