I want to know why there is a internal USB port. I know what the 4 external USB ports are used for.
The PCI card i am talking about is here

The responders are correct, However, THIS card is a better deal and works quite well. I've installed many of them for my friends

Example, Look up Aerocool card reader.

If you purchased such an item, you would want to connect its USB cables to your motherboard USB pins and not run the cables out side of your computer case to connect to the back of your computer.

it is used to connect your front panel devices , like the usb ports , and also used when you have an internal card reader .

It is for connecting to front panel connectors on your case, or for hiding some usb device inside your case.
