I just purchased a laptop and it automatically came with windows Vista. I was trying to download some games and it won't let me.
I had my friend (computer wiz) looked at it and he can't even figure out what the problem is. Should I return the laptop? Or should I take my laptop somewhere else to fine out what the problem is? but where?

I have only been playing with vista a few days so I dont know much about it yet. If I was to guess I would open the control pannel and go to the user accounts and see if you have administrator account or a user account. Make sure its set to administrator.

I have a new system with Vista Home Premium Edition preloaded. When I tried to download or play games online, I received a message stating I needed to install the Java Platform software on my computer. Further searching on Microsoft's website indicated Vista does not include this software because of licensing issues with Sun-Systems (the Java company).
However, Microsoft did include the link so I was able to downland and install Java.
Although, I am not 100% certain this to be the solution to your problem, it may be worth further investigation.
Since I got Java I was able to download and play games.
Try this link in the Sources box below

Yes I would vista has a ton of bugs that need to be worked out right now I would stick with XP for now. I am not too sure what vista supports but maybe the games are not supported by vista.

I have heard several complaints about Windows Vista bugs. I couldn't really tell you which were fact or fiction, but I do know that there are a few out there. I would just return the thing, so you don't run the risk of it crashing out later.
