Well, I just want to speed up my computer and someone told me to disable the flashcards on my computer and it will speed it up. Is this true?

No they are memory devices. If they are not being actively looked at to read or write data they do nothing that consumes processing resources.

I have no idea what the hell that means.

BUT.. if you want to speed things up.. Pony up about 100 bucks and get a nice 1 GB stick of RAM from zipzoomfly.com or Newegg.com. Flash memory doesn't mess with system speed.
