I do not know if it is the power chord or what else it could be. My computer works with the battery in it but my battery is almost dead and it won't charge. When I take the batter out of my computer and just try to get power throught the chord it will not work at all. Any suggestions?

Possibly the power supply is bad. The power supply for your laptop is the box that is part of your power cord, or it could be the cord itself. Make sure all connections are being plugged in properly on your power cord. Also, Make sure you try a different power outlet, or try something else in the outlet you are plugging your laptop into, to make sure that outlet has power to it.

IF, you have a simple Volt meter you can check your out-put on your AC adapter. It convert the wall plug AC into DC around 12-18 volts DC, depending on your laptop. IF you not showing voltage on the end that plug into your computer you may need a new adapter. Read on it and it show what the DC out should be.
Also, another problem that may happen if the adapter work. Sometimes when we have the laptop in our lap see where the adapter plug in and if it press on your leg. Sometimes this can cause a solder joint to come lose on the board inside. It not as easy to fix, but, I have done it and it cheap, just some solder. The adapter easy to fix, buy another one, but, it more expensive.
