Also I got a new speaker system 5.1 and I need a new sound card.. about how much $ do I need to spend for one.. i basically just want it for listening to music.. but loud and clear

I ran norton nothing came up, i ran ad aware nothing came and i ran spybot search and destroy and nothing came up. But i was told this is a virus so i went under RUN > type MSCONFIG > and went to startup and blocked it from starting up. So will this be a permanent fix and will no computer be no longer infected? Have I stoped this infection in my computer for good?

It ends up looking too red, or too blue. Even the lil' yahoo logo looks more blue than purple! I have adjusted till I am blue!!! Any help would be appreciated, but please, no hateful answers!! Thanks

I just wanted to know the cost associated with having a laptop on for a whole month. I was wondering what the expected electricity bill would be if I did this. My laptop is a dell inspiron bought 2 years ago. I would have a few web pages open and would be downloading. Also I would have a wifi reciever on.

Hi, I wish someone could help me out please. I have a compaq evo 1000C notebook. Everytime I connect any device (camera,mp3 player,external hard drive) to one of its USB ports, the computer reboots itself and doesnt boot properly until I remove the device from the USB port completely. I've tried downloading a few patches but nothing seems to work. please help.

Is it really worth the extra cost of getting a 1gb or is 512MB ok also?
I'm mostly going to be doing school work, maybe play some games but just like online games not like the games you buy, and surfing the web chatting a lot. Also some coding.

Time has come to upgrate the old rig...

MSI K8N SLI Platinum
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (2400MHz) Venice core
4x 512MB RAM
GeForce 7800GTX 256bit 256MB VRAM

I was thinking of upgrading something like this...

MSI K9N SLI Platinum
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ or 4400+ socket AM2
2x 1GB RAM
GeForce 7950 GX2 512MB bit 1GB VRAM

What do you think? Would you change anything? Any advice is welcome. I will use this PC for gaming mostly.

Tried to get on my yahoo account the other day and it would not let me sign in. So i started a new account which does not have all my friends on it ofcourse. Been very upset because a lot of people only know that address and not my knew one. Sadly i do not remember most of their address.

i first noticed that something was wrong when i tried to burn a cd but none of the burning would work (nero-6, WMP-10, REAL-10).
plus when i try to run a cd, i go to my computer to open the cd, explorer.exe will not responed. also when i put in my USB flash drive, it dont show up in my computer.

I can't get to the login screen on my Windows XP. Instead I get the blue screen of death that says there's a Registry Error. I can't use safe mode, and I can't seem to boot from my Windows XP CD. I can't figure out how to use the Recovery Console. The most recent settings that worked don't even work. My mission is to get at the pictures saved on the hard disk and copy them to a CD, or to get at the Recovery Console.

If it helps any, it's Windows XP Home Edition SP1 on a Dell.

Can i change my proccessing chip without doing anything else to the current system? My proccessor seems to slow, (1400mhz,1.4), my motherboard is good, the MSI K8NGM-V, so can i just remove the current proccessor and add a more powerfull one without doing anything else? just dissconnect the power remove the old chip install the new chip power back up and everything should be ok? i dont want to kill the motherboard so any minor details that could cause a problem i would appreciate. I will use an AMD 64 sempron chip, just will increase the MHZ.

I was trying to transfer the pictures off of a card, and something in the computer seemed to hesitate, and it stopped. But the properties shows the card as full, but on windows explorer, it shows no files on the card. Can I still save the pictures, or are they corrupted and gone forever? Or are they somewhere else on my computer?
