Go for Athlon 64 FX instead of the X2 for gaming, make sure the 2 1GB RAM stix are both dual channel (if your mobo supports it, im sure it does), namely a pair of the Corsair XMS series. Those would be my suggestions. The graphics card is overkill unless youre doin some HARD CORE gamin.

Just keep your current setup and games should work fine. I have an AMD Athalon XP 1800+, ATI Radeon 9250, and 2 GB of Ram, and almost all of the new games out there work, with the exception of Oblivion. I think the slower processor will be fine.

just upgrade AMD 64 3200+ to AMD Athlon 64x2 4200+ (2.0GGHz) or 4400+ (2.2GHz) than u will see a BIG difference. trust me and save ur $$$.
4x512mb ram = 2x1gb it make no difference u will lost >$200 for this, for today u got GeForce 7800gtx 256mb vram is powerful enough.

I would actually go with a 64 FX instead of the X2 if you're going to be gaming.
