Assume that I've successful built a working computer. Now, what should I see on the monitor when I first turn it on?

(Please assume that I have everything that is needed installed and it's all working properly).

I appreciate your input.

Yesterday I seen that my memory was really low on my computer, and I tried to defrag the computer, but windows xp stated that in order to defrag I would have to make memory... I didnt have time to do that at the time, so I just shut the computer off. Now... when I turn on the computer it will do the scan disk and state no errors found, but when it should bring up windows... (the page with start button and everything) it just shuts the computer off and then it cuts back on. I have tried to start in safe mode, and it just gives a black screen with white file names or something.. and then shuts down after about a min or so... I dont know how to fix the problem, I dont know if it's from lack of memory, virus, or something wrong with the actual computer itself... anyone have an idea?

I want to boot from a CD, but the CD I have won't boot. I am wondering what type of file is needed to boot from? It is a .ini, or boot.cfg, etc... Also, does it have to be in a certain directory on the CD, any specifications, etc...
