Depends on what "something" is.
If it is a word document using microsoft word for mac, it will open.
If it is something in apple format (i.e. a keynote presentation etc) it will not

So long as you save it in a compatible format, onto compatible media.
If you're using the Mac version of Office/Word then you can save it directly. Otherwise, save it as a rich text file.
As for the media, remember that Macs using a different file format than Windows, so you would need to save the file to a Windows formatted floppy/cd, a memory stick or the internet. Saving to a mac formatted floppy wouldn't work.
