Actually. it's very easy.

After you decide which new video card you want, you make sure the computer is shut down and unplugged.

You remove the screws on the back of the computer. This will expose the motherboard and all the innards of your computer.

Remove the plug from the back of the video card (you can identify the proper card because the monitor cable will be connected to the back of that particular card).

Just remove the card, replace the new card, plug in the monitor cable, replace the back with the screws you removed earlier, plug it in, and turn it on.

Oh - one thing - some video card slots have a locking mechanism on the slot connected to the mother board. If the card doesn't come out smoothly, you will need to look up your mother board on the internet and find out how to unlock the board.

Good luck. I hope this helps.

Installation is easy.
first in safe mode go to your system and disable the existing video card.
switch off and disconnect your PC.
ensure you are earthed to prevent static electricity before opening your new card from its anti stat bag
locate and unscrew your old card, place it carefully in an anti stat bag.
carefully insert your new card, screw it in carefully.
close your PC and reconnect
switch on the PC your windows will detect the new card, install drivers from your CD rom.
reset your preferences and away you go

the best ones would have to be researched depending on what you use your PC for, how much money you want to spend, is it express compatible, etc these facts would have to be a separate question/answer

Not hard at all. All you need is the card and a screwdriver. Make sure your power supply can handle it, though--it won't work if the supply is too small. I'd say go for at least 500-600 watts for any top of the line model, like a GeForce or the like. Check newegg.com for good deals on power supplies and video cards.

Make sure that your board will support your new card.

Check to see if its an AGP or PCI-E Board. Neither card will fit the others slots.
