I have a Dell computer. I tested the hard drive and memory, but nothing happens either. I read that manual and I'm supposed to hear a system beep, which I don't. The only thing that works is the fan and the light on the motherboard.

Before you jump to conclusions and spend a bundle, check to make sure all the cables are securely in place. The best way to do that is to unplug each cable and securely plug it back in. Try the simple things first.

You may need to have it hooked up to a diagnostic defice, like SOYO Techaid, which will give you an error code for the motherboard.

Check the boot order in the BIOS. Make sure that it is set to boot from the hard drive and not from the DVD/CD drives.
