Hi,

I'm have two computer connected to each other using LAN. I can share folders without any problem but sharing the internet connection on the client computer with the host computer does not work. I have marked the items in the internet connection sharing settings under "advanced" tab. marked required items that allow the internet to share on the client computer. And on the client computer I can see the computer connected to the internet via LAN but I can browse websites and cannot check e-mail even the Outlook Express doesn't work. The IP address of the client computer is: 192.168.0.2 Subnet Mask of the client computer 255.255.255. and Default gateway of the client computer 192.168.0.1 which is actually the IP address of host computer.

NOTE: I can see on the client computer that it is connected to the internet but cannot browse sites or check e-mail. Please help me by giving a detail information. Thanks and God bless.

Tim.

Here's the situation:
I have cable internet connection hooked up to my pc. I just got a Nintendo Wii which has internet capabiblities. My friend gave me a wireless router and told me the ssid and wep key so that I could hook my Nintendo up to the internet.

Now the problem is, I'm a complete noob when it comes to networking.

Here is my what I think has to happen:
cable modem --> wireless router --> pc (connected by network cable) + nintendo (connected wirelessly)

Can somebody tell me step by step what I need to do so that my computer and Nintendo both have access to internet? How do I configure everything so that it works? (I have no idea what to do with the ssid and wep key)

The new router software asks for the internet IP address. Is there any software or program that can detect that for me? Or do i have to call my ISP directly and get it from them?

System Details:Laptop: Toshiba Satellite A15-S129
OS: XP Pro SP2
Router: Brand New Netgear WGT624v3
Wireless Card: DLink DWL G630
Problem: I have to restart the computer to get connected using the wireless card; otherwise from a standby mode, it would not get connected. Interestingly enough this would happen even though I will have the Connected icon with Signal strength Excellent and Status as Connected at the bottom right corner. The browser would not go to any page & would come back with a comment, it could not found "www.yahoo.com". However once connected after a restart, the problem would not be there untill I bring the laptop to standby mode. I asked "Netgear" for help and they told me that the problem can be taken care of by restarting the service: "Wireless Zero Configuration" everytime after this happens. I tried this without any success. Can somebody please let me know what can be done to sort this out. I can not afford to keep the machine ON for long time without "StandBy"

I cant load my security software web page or any Chinese web pages or update my security software at home, but I could when I was away at Niagara falls and used the hotel network which was the last 2 days. I connect directly to the modem at home, and I used wireless connection at hotel. My friend who lives pretty far away is having the same problem. We use the same network service, which is Rogers Yahoo High Speed. I called the tech support, they said nothing is wrong with my connection... I used Bitdefender and spy sweeper checked my computer, there wasn't anything. I use Zone labs internet security suite and the homepage is zonelabs.com.

Actually, it started last Saturday, there was a time when i can not load any web pages, but after a while, it fixed itself. Except zonelabs.com. (I was able to load Chinese web pages back then). I googled, zonelab's internal server was down at that moment and I left the second day so....

What seems to be the problem, it's driving me crazy

I've had optimum online for over a year and have found the service to be awful. At least once in every time that I'm surfing I've been disconnected from the internet and then have to reconnect. At first it wasn't so bad and I toughed my way through it but in the last four months this has been ridiculous. Is this a common problem for other Optimum Customers or am I just lucky?

I have a desktop PC and laptop setup on a connection through a wireless router. I can see both of of the computers on the workgroup but I am not able to access the desktop through the laptop or vice versa. I have made the folders that I wanted shared through Sharing and Networking. I tried running Add a Network Place but it says I am not allowed access to that computer.

Both are running Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2. I am just trying to access Shared Documents and all the sub-folders under Shared Documents. Can anybody help?

I installed the CD program that came with it, and when I try to access the internet on my psp it doesnt work. I have a cable modem and no firewall yet so i know it isnt the firewall. Sometimes it gives me a message to check the security settings and then other times it says it cannot find an access point or the signal is too weak when im sitting right next to it. Anyone know how to fix this? I also have it plugged in the USB port in front of my tower, does it make a difference if its in the front or th back? I dunno if i have one in back since i have 3 in front

I am trying to set up a secure how network for 2 laptops. I have the SSID changed and the network name is broadcast, but how do I secure this? I think I need to change the settings since I can just browse to the network and connect.

If this helps, I have Brighthouse Cable for broadband access in the Central Florida area.

I have a small network right now using a Network Everywhere 4 Port Cable/DSL Router. Atm it is connected to 3 desktops and 1 notebook. I got a new notebook for xmas and want to put it on the network but wireless. I was thinking I could just pop a wireless hub/router onto the Cable/DSL router we have set up but I am just not sure, wireless was something I have never done.

To sum it all up I am trying to get 5 computers on a network. 3 Desktops wired and 2 notebooks wireless. And I have a DSL router hooked into my existing connection(all ports are full, only has 4 ports, I need 5 or 2 wireless pref.)

Thanks again to all who read this I know it is a mess of words.
