It would help if you tell us what router you are using. On my dlink I go into the configuration settings via my web browser and click on the LAN Button and I can change the default IP, subnet and even give it a local domain name if I wanted to.

You can use a rollover cable to login into your router from your PC and do the following-CONFIG T-INT F0/0-IP ADDRESS (THEN PUT IN WHATEVER IP ADDRESS YOU PREFER)-then-COPY RUN CONFIG START CONFIG
