if you go with a wireless router you will need to make sure the second pc has a wireless adapter otherwise you will need to by one.... if you go with a wired router then make sure the ethernet cable is long enough... you can get all this stuff at any computer store....

then you hook up the dsl modem to the wan port of the router and then the pc to the router and then the second pc to the router (wired)....

or

hook the dsl modem to the wan port of the router and one pc to the router to access the router (open internet explorer and type in the ip address given in the routers manuel) set that up for the info that you need for the wireless pc then go to the wireless pc and go to Start-Control Panel-Network Connections right-click Wireless Network and select Wireless Networks on the top and select Add then you put the info from the first pc into there... all set..

the only thing that would stop this from working is if you double-click and icon on the desktop to connect to your adsl isp... if you just open up ie and its online then your alright otherwise you gotta talk to your isp to set up the modem to be an always on connection... good luck

If you want it wired: Plug your RoadRunner modem into the port labled "WAN" on the back of the router. Then get two ethernet cables. Plug one end into Computer A, the other into one of the ethernet ports on the back of the router. Do the same with the other computer.

If you want it wireless: Plug the modem into the WAN port. Then (if you don't have one) install a WiFi card into the computers or use a dongle. Then just connect.

You can also mix - eg. have one computer use WiFi and connect the other into the router.

Well withe equipment you have mentioned you will have to do this. Connect the router to your modem. Connect one computer using ethernet cable to one of the routers ethernet ports and install your wireless adapter into the other computer. The routers DHCP should be enabled and you should have your ISP username and password, if using PPOE, or set for static or dynamic IP (Depends on what ISP service you are using).

That should do it. After you get everything working you should enable wireless security, like WEP or WAP, so no one can access your internet connection without your permission.
