We have DSL networked through a router. When my husband is downloading stuff, my surfing is painfully slow. For the short time I'm online, I just unplug the ethernet cords. However, I am concerned about the wear and tear on the plugs. Is there such a thing as an on/off switch for the cord?

Ok, we have Verizon DSL. The computer that has the wireless modem on it (the main computer) is in our study room. I bought a wireless router (just has ethernet connections) a long time ago. I was wondering if there was any way to connect my PS2 to the internet using the wireless router I have. So really what I'm asking is, is there any way to establish a connection from a wireless modem to a wireless router, and if so, how?

Can anyone tell me the cost of dial up on the phone bill? Can you break it down to the hour? Or something like that.

I have heard cable is much cheaper, and this is not my computer.

I am hoping not to have to feel real guilty being on this much, cause I am on hour after hour!

Hope that doesn't come to hundreds or something! OMG!
