I've changed the IP, Gateway and DSN to how Belkin have asked me to but I still cant access it. They gave instructions to follow because I lost the software cd. I never thought it would be so hard to configure it without the cd-rom. Im running Window ME.

First, DITCH "ME"! That was the biggest POS that Microsoft ever invented. It definitely is the Frankenstein of the OS world.

All kidding aside, I never use the cdrom program to configure a wireless router.

I would start from scratch, resetting the router to factory defaults. With the IP address you are using, it appears that you changed it from the factory default. Did you change DHCP too? That might be your problem. Your computer is on 1 network and your router is on another.

Factory reset, or change your computer IP address and subnet to match the router. Choose something like 192.168.2.100 255.255.255.0

Then, use your WIRED connection to connect to it. My guess is that somewhere in the wireless setup, (This is your problem right? Wireless) you goofed up the wireless settings or did not put them in your computer correctly. Go back and take a look.

Funny how this goes. They put this "wireless in a box" and kinda expect that a 2 year old can do it. It has been my experience that this has been the great lie of technology companies.

I make 1/4 of my living setting up home and small business networks. Some business owner, smart people in their own right, buy this "Network in a box" and can not figure it out.

Thanks to the technology industry, I have a pretty stable job. :)

Good luck.

Tom

I face the same problem before a month
even if you follow the instruction you can access it
simply connect the router directly with out any thing like the internet
in your network setting type the DNS : 192.168.2.1 ( the router IP)
you will log in
if you cant you need to update the firmware
if you need more info dont hesitste to ask me

First, I assume that you have followed instructions correctly.

Are you connected with a cable? I would try that first to verify whether the router is working.

Then start/ run / cmd / ipconfig all to see whether you have a connection to the belkin router. report back.

When you log in are you prompted for a user name and password?
I believe it is admin for user and password for password. You can find a manual on their website and look at it there, too.
