System Details:Laptop: Toshiba Satellite A15-S129
OS: XP Pro SP2
Router: Brand New Netgear WGT624v3
Wireless Card: DLink DWL G630
Problem: I have to restart the computer to get connected using the wireless card; otherwise from a standby mode, it would not get connected. Interestingly enough this would happen even though I will have the Connected icon with Signal strength Excellent and Status as Connected at the bottom right corner. The browser would not go to any page & would come back with a comment, it could not found "www.yahoo.com". However once connected after a restart, the problem would not be there untill I bring the laptop to standby mode. I asked "Netgear" for help and they told me that the problem can be taken care of by restarting the service: "Wireless Zero Configuration" everytime after this happens. I tried this without any success. Can somebody please let me know what can be done to sort this out. I can not afford to keep the machine ON for long time without "StandBy"

Are you using the Windows Wireless configuration service, the software that came with your Netgear device, or is their Toshiba software running that handles the wireless network detection?

You may have identical pieces of software running but from different manufacturers causing issues.

Did you both stop and restart the service? You might also try entering the following at a command line:

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
