Can some one explain how to share internet connection(using cellular EGPRS) between PCs. I have a network card in my PC which is connected to internet using my cellularphone EGPRS. I tried to share this connection using a cross lan cable with my notebook, but is not working. Am I doing the right thing to share the internet?

On your PC with the modem, go to the network connections control panel, right click the modem connection, and click Properties. On the advanced tab, select Share this connection with other computers on the LAN.
On the other PC, set the default gateway as the IP for the PC with the modem. (Network connections, right click LAN connection, properties, double click TCP/IP)
Should work fine that way.

your best bet is to use a wireless router, they don't cost THAT much and it means you can easily connect to the internet anywhere in your house. you will also need to buy a wireless receiver for your computer so that you can receive the signal. most routers have easy to follow instructions or you can contact your internet provider and they will give you the settings. the router plugs into your phone line instead of the modem supplied by your isp (internet service provider) then you can either hard wire (use a cable) to connect up to 4 computers or use the wireless function to send the internet all round your house. the router acts as a gateway to the internet allowing you to use the internet at the same time as another computer on your 'network' if you need anymore help just ask. that is if your living at home. if you live in uni halls then most have the internet available ask your flat mates or at your faculty.

The first thing you should do before sharing any resources between the computers is to determine whether they can see each other. One test is to use ping. Once that's working then you can start sharing internet usage, by right on your internet connection, click advance and tick share internet connection.

you have not provided enough information to troubleshoot your problem.

I don't believe that is possible because EGPRS is not an IP based network.
