My computer is playing up, only 3 months old. I backed up my files and transferred them to my old computer. There are three of us on a homegroup, and the guys are alway changing things.

I want to get it blank, and reload everything again.
I don't want to do it in Safe Mode, because that still leaves some software on it. I want to upload all my disks again.

What buttons do I press. F8 takes me to Safe Mode. So that is no good.

It is not a laptop. The tower has ASUS / AMD 64 Athlon X 2 on it..

I need an answer from a computer tech. Please.

How do I do this? Urgent. Very urgent. Thanks in advance.

I want to upgrade my op. system to XP Pro. I have been given a disc that says Windows XP SP2 Corp.
If i use this, i would like to know if i will loose any of my files, pics etc?. Will there be any problems i should be aware of?.

My computer has had some upgrades recently; its a Dell GX260. I put in a gig of ram, a new graphics card and a new hard drive. Everything was fine for about 2 months, then all of a sudden last week the fan started running nonstop. From the moment I turn it on to shutting it off the fan is running full speed, and its very noisy. I dont think I've actually heard it run before. The interior of the pc doesnt look dirty, although there was an accumulation of debris on the outside which I wiped down. Any ideas what could have caused it and how to stop it or fix it?

My computer is a Optima Windows Xp with 245mb of ram with a 40gb hard drive and a 2.66ghz.

My computer just crashed and I sent a error report to microsoft and they said

"that my (BIOS) system version on my computer does not match the specifications for the central processing unit (CPU) that was installed on my computer.

What does this mean???

I just bought a new PC and the monitor it came with has both a vga and hdi inputs.

I've connected my PC using the hdi one. I just wanted to know, if i connect another machine to the same monitor using the vga input, am i likely to damage my monitor?

I'm building a customer PC. I know that I will need to get more then the standard 400 watts that come with the PC Tower. But how exactly do I find that out and figure exactly what I need???

I know I could just post my specs on here and someone will answer is for me... but I want to know for future computers, how do I know?

I have tried looking on video card and CPU specs to see if it lists some kind of energy requirements and I saw none.

Any help on this topic, I would really appreciate it.

I have just installed Windows XP onto a had drive that had the operating system deleted, now ervery time i boot the computer up it goes into "DOS" and gives me a choice of to run Windows XP or Microsoft windows.
If i choose Microsoft Windows it boots to a "DOS" prompt c:\
If i choose Windows XP windows it will boot up normaly
