So what was the question?

It didn't fully delete the previous operating system. You can fix this by using the XP CD (as bootable) and going into Repair Console. I don't remember the exact command line to use, but if you don't mind picking XP every time you boot up your computer, I wouldn't mess with it unless you know what you are doing fully.

Wow, that's amazing!

System Properties > Advanced tab > Startup and Recovery > Edit (to edit the startup options manually...)

i can see a question mark, but how come i don't understand the question? oh no! what is wrong with me? Is it the breakfast? It couldn't be the bed.. i mean, i always wake up at the same side.

yes u have deleted the windows 98 os

right click on my computer>properties>advanced>

setting>edit

there u will see
timeout=30

make it

timeout=1

then it will go to xp directly

bt beware if the default os is 98 then u wnt be able to log in xp so i sugest u try

timeout=10

then u see if its ok

if it loads xp in 10 second later then safely chose to put the timeout 1 second

i guess you should go to system startup recovery and edit the boot.ini

how?: right click my comp. click advanced tab and click settings on startup recovery and click edit and will show the boot.ini in notepad

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
